The fund will prioritise those experiencing short term financial hardship and who have genuine concerns with being able to make sessions financially viable or facing the potential ceasing of operations.

Eligible costs that the fund could support include costs associated with:

  • Facilities
  • Restart activity

To be able to apply to the Covid-19 Hardship fund clubs / coaches need to meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate clear financial hardship in relation to the restart of play
  • Highlight specific challenge being faced in relation to the restart of play
  • Be able to evidence impact from not receiving funding
  • Be delivering sessions (club/coach) that are at risk of folding/ceasing

Application Process:

To apply for a hardship grant applicants will need to complete our Covid-19 Hardship Fund application form.

This will be reviewed by the assessment panel who will meet weekly to assess applications, with applicants notified of decisions within 14 days of applying.

For successful applications, the full amount of grant awarded will be paid to the club/coach. Successful recipients will be required to submit monitoring for the project as well as a case study demonstrating the impact of hardship funding.

In addition to the hardship fund clubs and coaches can access additional support via our Return to Play Guidance Hub which includes guidance, tools and resources to help you get back on court. If your restart challenges are in relation to facilities we would also recommend you complete our Venue Feedback form to help us understand the national picture as well as local challenges.
